Building Your Henna Business
By: Krysteen Lomonaco  -  1/26/2010
So I am working on promoting myself with henna to get more work out here, and I am working on a few ideas, but I thought, why not ask my henna guru if she has any ideas? I'd appreciate any input:) Talk to you soon! Zina

As far as promotion goes, what are you looking to do?  Just find more clients for individual appt?  If so, get yourself in a highly visible spot, rent a space in a hair salon or join a regular farmers market.  If you want to do parties, you'll need promo materials and try to get a one page web site somehow.  People don't think your legitimate without one.  Some of the most regular business I've had, has been schools, libraries and parks and rec.  But for these you need to develop a sellable program, then go to the places and meet the ones who handle the budget or mail info. to them (not e-mail).

So figure out what area you want to work on first, give me your ideas on what you need to do and I'll help you fine tune them.

But, the very first thing I would do is offer a free party (in a certain area for a certain # of people)  Collect e-mail addresses only.  Then use these addresses to advertise by sending them info. on where you'll be doing henna.  That way, if you get a night in a coffee house, you can let people know you'll be there.  It greatly improves your chance to get clients.

The number one tool you can have is good pictures of your work and clear, good looking design books.  This always helps people decide to spend their tattoo money with you!
